Conard had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Manchester Red Hawks. While the Red Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
One reason for the win was Conard's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-17, 25-12.
Allison D paced Conard's offense, picking up six kills. D got some help from Jayme K and her 16 assists. Kate R controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Conard's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Manchester, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conard will venture away from home to face off against Edwin O. Smith at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manchester, they will head out to challenge Glastonbury at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
