The Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas and the Sidwell Friends Quakers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Georgetown Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
Last Sunday, Georgetown Prep didn't have too much trouble with Whitney Young on the road as they won 67-53. Given Georgetown Prep's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Maryland, while Whitney Young is ranked 204th in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Sidwell Friends lost to Paul VI on the road by a decisive 65-47 margin on Sunday. Sidwell Friends has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Sidwell Friends had strong showings from Caleb Williams, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Acaden Lewis, who scored 17 points. The match was Williams' third in a row with at least ten points.
Georgetown Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Sidwell Friends, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Georgetown Prep lost to Sidwell Friends at home by a decisive 62-45 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022.
