The Morgan Township Cherokees won the last time they faced the Hebron Hawks, and things went their way on Friday too. Morgan Township narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hebron 45-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Morgan Township.
Keagen Holder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wheeler, who scored seven points.
Morgan Township pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hebron, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
Morgan Township will play host again and welcome South Bend Career Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Bend Career Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Morgan Township is ranked 160th). As for Hebron, they will head out on the road to face off against LaVille at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully LaVille focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
