San Pedro has gone a perfect 10-0 against Narbonne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. San Pedro is taking a road trip to square off against Narbonne at 3:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
San Pedro gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Peninsula 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Caroline Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, San Pedro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Ortega, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Ortega has posted since back in April of 2024. AnnMarie Groves also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Narbonne is still undefeated this season after their contest against Santee on Friday, but Santee came as close as anyone has to beating them. Narbonne came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Santee.
Neyra Avila and Elyse Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Avila went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Cheyenne Bennett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Narbonne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Narbonne's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for San Pedro, their record now sits at 5-2.
Everything went San Pedro's way against Narbonne in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as San Pedro made off with a 19-3 win. Does San Pedro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Narbonne turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
