Baseball Recap: Shadle Park Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

The matchup between Shadle Park and Cheney on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Highlanders were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Blackhawks. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Shadle Park got a massive performance out of Roy'Al Pierre-Lacy, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Pierre-Lacy has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Baldwin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Shadle Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Shadle Park's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Cheney, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Coming up, Shadle Park will face off against Ferris at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saxons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cheney, they will take on University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Blackhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
