Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Breaux Bridge Tigers walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 win over Eunice on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Breaux Bridge.
Kelby Hypolite had a dynamite game for Breaux Bridge, rushing for 168 yards and four touchdowns. Hypolite was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Breaux Bridge also got a significant boost from Cristian Matthews, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
Breaux Bridge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Eunice, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Assumption the next time they take the field. Breaux Bridge will head out to face Assumption on Friday, while Eunice will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
