Colby's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They didn't even let Ulysses on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Ryler Carter was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colby got a massive performance out of Myka Nolan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hills, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Colby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Lakin hit Holcomb with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Longhorns came up short against the Broncs, falling 13-2.
Holcomb saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Stagner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Holcomb's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Colby, their record is now 16-6.
