The Presidio Blue Devils will face off against the Wink Wildcats at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Presidio is looking for their season's first victory.
Presidio is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Lake View on Friday, falling 18-10. Even if the Blue Devils couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Presidio got a big performance out of Camila Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that Ortega has scored this season. Leah Vazquez was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wink got the win against Iraan on Thursday by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Wildcats have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Viviana Flores made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Flores was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Wink let Khloe Mendoza and Adelynn Thompson run wild. Mendoza went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Thompson went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Mendoza has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Butterfield, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.
Wink kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Wink and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Presidio, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
