Kankakee Valley's and Lowell's matchup on Saturday was close at halftime, but Kankakee Valley turned on the heat in the second half with 44 points. Kankakee Valley blew past Lowell 70-50. Kankakee Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kankakee Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camden Webster, who scored 19 points along with five steals. Webster continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Sampson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Knox came up short against North Judson-San Pierre on Saturday and fell 54-46. Knox has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The win got Kankakee Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Knox, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-7.
Kankakee Valley beat Knox 74-63 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Knox's Owen Binkley, who scored 20 points along with eight assists. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Kankakee Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
