Valencia has won three straight games at home, while Granada Hills Charter has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Vikings will host the Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Valencia 2.6, Granada Hills Charter 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Valencia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Golden Valley with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Carly Kearns made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Sydney Bolder was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Tejeda, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3.
Valencia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Granada Hills Charter's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of West. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Highlanders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Addison Moorman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Granada Hills Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Jimenez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Valencia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Granada Hills Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Valencia hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Granada Hills Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Valencia came up short against Granada Hills Charter in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 11-6. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
