On Friday, the Boulder Creek Jaguars faced the O'Connor Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Boulder Creek walked away with a 78-68 win over the Eagles. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Andrew Bhesania, who scored 42 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Brewer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Boulder Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for O'Connor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder Creek will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Liberty is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for O'Connor, they will head out on the road to take on the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Pinnacle is ranked 34th, while the Eagles are ranked 18th).
