Altha got themselves on the board against Mosley on Thursday, but Mosley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Hope Tanner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tarrin McCrone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Carrington Scott was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Altha always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mosley only posted an OBP of .111.
Altha has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Mosley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Coincidentally, Altha and Mosley will both be playing Chipley the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Dolphins will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
