The Mt. Rainier Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Rainier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Liberty is ranked 87th).
Last Friday, Mt. Rainier took a serious blow against Kennedy Catholic, falling 57-7. Mt. Rainier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.
Meanwhile, Liberty didn't have too much trouble with Lake Washington on the road on Friday as they won 21-6. Liberty pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Lake Washington cut but never quite recovered from.
Mt. Rainier's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
