Long Island Lutheran won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Pennington 16-15. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Long Island Lutheran.
Long Island Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremy Alexandre led the charge by throwing for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Butler did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Long Island Lutheran's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Long Island Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Pennington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
