The Cedarcrest Red Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Interlake Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Cedarcrest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
If Cedarcrest beats Interlake with 19 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Red Wolves blew past Bellevue 19-0 on Friday. The Red Wolves haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Ryann Bottemiller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Bottemiller was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Josie Fiala was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Kyle Watson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Cedarcrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Interlake never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Highline on Friday. They walked away with a 15-11 win over the Pirates.
Like Cedarcrest, Interlake also got a great game from a two-way player: Albany Aponte (2027). She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Aponte (2027) has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Interlake got a massive performance out of Madeline Knight (2028), who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases and five runs. That's the most stolen bases Knight (2028) has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Grace Martinez (2029), who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Interlake's record is now 10-4. As for Cedarcrest, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Interlake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cedarcrest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. It's a different story for Interlake, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Cedarcrest's hitters?
