The Loachapoka Indians had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against Maplesville by a score of 55-47. For Loachapoka, this counts as revenge for the 43-38 loss Maplesville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Loachapoka found their leader in underclassman Jordan Tyner, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Tyner scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donzion Chatmon, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nehemiah McCary, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Jonathan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Loachapoka is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Maplesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Verbena the next time they take the court. Loachapoka will host Verbena at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Maplesville will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
