Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Wheelersburg's 11th in Last 13 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Wheelersburg rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Alexander Spartans as they made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Holland was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Heimbach, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Wheelersburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexander only posted an OBP of .125.

Wheelersburg is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Alexander, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Wheelersburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against Portsmouth on the 26th. Alexander does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
