6A District 15 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Archbishop McCarthy and Fort Lauderdale played the most hotly contested game in 6A District 15 this week, with Archbishop McCarthy eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory.
The Mavericks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Flying L's.
Archbishop McCarthy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mavericks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brandon Vicens has thrown for 652 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Frantz Petitpapa has 29 catches for 460 yards. Vicens also leads the league in rushing with 609 yards.
A big matchup in 6A District 15 this week will be when Stranahan takes on Fort Lauderdale. At the moment, the Mighty Dragons are in fourth, while Richard Dunbar III's team is in second.
Stranahan featured an ironclad defense this week, and led the league in points allowed with 3.
