Baseball Recap: Cedar Hill Snags 12th Victory in Last 14 Games

Cedar Hill never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the DeSoto Eagles with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Monte Dismuke's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Cedar Hill got a big performance out of Kenneth Allen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Allen a new career-high. Brayden Boyd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Cedar Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for DeSoto, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Hill will challenge Horn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeSoto, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
