Football Recap: York/Pavilion's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

There was early excitement for York/Pavilion after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Barker/Royalton-Hartland who ended up claiming the real prize. York/Pavilion took a 30-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barker/Royalton-Hartland. While York/Pavilion didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Barker/Royalton-Hartland 6-0 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, York/Pavilion still got an impressive performance from Parker Bonefede, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 164 yards and one TD. Bonefede is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Barker/Royalton-Hartland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vincenzo Fazzio led the charge by picking up 79 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 35 yards. Another player making a difference was Tysen McCaa, who threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, York/Pavilion fell to 4-1. As for Barker/Royalton-Hartland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. York/Pavilion will head out to take on Oakfield-Alabama/Elba at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Barker/Royalton-Hartland, they will venture away from home to face off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
