The Theodore Bobcats lost against the Vestavia Hills Rebels back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Theodore received a tough blow as they fell 59-44 to Vestavia Hills. While losing is never fun, Theodore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Vestavia Hills is ranked sixth).
Theodore's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazmyn Bigham, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The match was Bigham's third in a row with at least ten points. Fatou Bane was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Theodore has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Vestavia Hills, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Theodore will be home for the holidays to greet Shades Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vestavia Hills will be home for the holidays to greet Foley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
