The Dade Christian Crusaders were handed a two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Pine Knights on Friday. Dade Christian was the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over Pine. With Dade Christian ahead 36-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Kenvenson Malivert, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times he's played. Kevin Rojo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and two steals.
The victory got Dade Christian back to even at 9-9. As for Pine, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
Dade Christian will head out on the road to square off against Coral Gables at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Gables presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dade Christian in Florida (Coral Gables is ranked 161st, while Dade Christian is ranked 428th). As for Pine, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. John Carroll Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
