Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley - West this week, Ithaca beat Merrill 70-0,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary moved up to 279 from 317 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cardinals were able to move up by besting St. Louis 52-14.
Travis Smith put up the best numbers in passing as Ithaca beat the Vandals. He finished with a total of 11 completions for 191 yards and 4 touchdowns. Smith's favorite target this week was Eli Villalobos, who caught 3 passes for 63 yards.
Kevin Brownlie was the best running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 114 yards as St. Charles defeated the Sharks. Chase Ruhlig also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.
He was 11-11 with 0 interception.
Schroeder was the best receiver in Tri-Valley - West this week as Karl Schmugge's team beat St. Louis. Schroeder racked up 4 receptions for 94 yards. Owen Heyn helped Michigan Lutheran Seminary's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 26 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Terry Hessbrook's team's Smith and Logan Hessbrook have proven to be a lethal combination. Smith has thrown for 814 yards this season, while Hessbrook, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 14 catches for 286 yards. The Bulldogs' Brownlie leads the league in rushing yards with 360.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Charles takes on the Cardinals. As it stands, Jason Dinninger's team is in fourth, while Michigan Lutheran Seminary is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Yellowjackets take on Carrollton. Ithaca has allowed 19 points this season, while the Cavaliers have given up 83. The Yellowjackets allowed 0 points last week as they defeated Merrill.
The Cardinals made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,718 from 8,471. The advance stemmed from a 52-14 victory over Aaron Munderloh's team last week.
