It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Balboa Buccaneers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 35-0. Balboa's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamelle Newman, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Newman's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. Kevin Zhao was another key contributor, picking up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Balboa's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lincoln, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Balboa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lincoln will be staying on the road on December 2nd to face off against Strathmore at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Strathmore: 14.2, Lincoln: 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
