The Middle Park Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They snuck past Fort Lupton with a 45-40 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Middle Park also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Aubree Hanson was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Mayte Alvarado was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five steals.
Several Bluedevils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zaylee Chavez, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Chavez also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Marely Gomez, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Middle Park pushed their record up to 7-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Fort Lupton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Middle Park will head out on the road to square off against DSST: Montview at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Lupton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully KIPP Denver Collegiate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 43 on Tuesday.
