The McHenry Warriors didn't have quite enough to beat the Marengo Indians on Friday and fell  5-4. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Natalie Bender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Danica McCarthy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Elyse Fullington, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
McHenry's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Marengo, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McHenry will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grant Community at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 28th. As for Marengo, they will square off against Lakes at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
