Arroyo extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 12-9. They put the hurt on the Rosemead Panthers with a sharp 16-1 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 13 runs or more this season.
Emily Rubalcava made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Rubalcava was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Arroyo let Hailie Espinoza and Ayleen Bravo run wild. Espinoza went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double, while Bravo went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Espinoza a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Morales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Arroyo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .655. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in 12 consecutive games.
As for Rosemead, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Rosemead's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ANISSA DIAZ, who got a hit.
Arroyo has already played their next contest, a 23-3 victory against Garey on the 5th. As for Rosemead, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Marshall at 3:30 p.m. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.83 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
