The Giddings Buffaloes stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They never let Rockdale onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Give Giddings' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
They hit Rockdale with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Marissa Lopez (4),
Kayla Herrera,
Audrey Nicks, and
Jaida Rodea.
Giddings pushed their record up to 10-0-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three matches. As for Rockdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9-4.
Giddings will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Smithville at 5:00 p.m. Giddings' defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Smithville's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockdale, they will head out on the road to take on La Grange at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockdale's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 14 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
