After soaring to 59 points the game before, the Greenwood Woodmen were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-11 loss at the hands of Jennings County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenwood has scored all season.
Jennings County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mollie Ernstes out in front who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ernstes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Juliann Woodard, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Greenwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Jennings County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eastern Greene at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Jennings County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. Columbus East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Jennings County is ranked eighth).
