The River Valley Dust Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (River Valley: 3.7, Palo Verde Valley: 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
River Valley picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They came out on top against Pahrump Valley by a score of 10-7. With that victory, the Dust Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Mickey Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kai Cornell was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Hayden Carroll was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
River Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Palo Verde Valley entered their tilt with White Pine on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Bobcats.
The team relied heavily on Wesly Dill, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kole White, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Palo Verde Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-2.
River Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Palo Verde Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 4-1. Does River Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palo Verde Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
