Even though Ashe County has not done well against Hibriten recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ashe County secured a 46-40 W over Hibriten. That's two games straight that Ashe County has won by exactly six points.
Ashe County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Graybeal, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Eli Lemly was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Freedom, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-49 loss to South Caldwell on Tuesday.
Ashe County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Freedom, they bumped their record down to 7-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
