Mid-State 38 - Watchung recap Oct. 3, 2012
Marc Monks and Pete Dehkes provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Plainfield.
Ridge extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State 38 - Watchung this week by beating Somerville, 28-10. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Sam Oltmans was the best wideout in the league this week as Montgomery bested Linden. Oltmans tallied six receptions for 164 yards.
Eddie Delia was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 131 yards on 18 carries as North Hunterdon beat the Tigers. Teammate T.J. Marron added to the ground attack by rushing for 22 yards.
Conor Hughes put up the best numbers through the air as Ridge topped the Pioneers. He finished with 11 completions for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Hughes' favorite target this week was Ryan Bell, who caught four passes for 62 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Monks of the Lions is the league leader in passing yards this season with 592. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Watchung Hills Regional's ANTHONY PRUS has rushed for 563 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Oltmans. The Montgomery star has 19 catches for 310 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Ridge takes on second place North Hunterdon. Last week, the Red Devils beat Somerville, while North Hunterdon topped the Cardinals.
There should be lots of points scored when Ridge and John Mattes's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Red Devils comes in having scored 107 this season, while the Lions have scored 89. Ridge scored 28 points last week as it topped the Pioneers.
