MarkAnthony Walker and Justin Butler provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Sultana. The longest such play in Desert Sky this season, the connection resulted in 85 yards.
Burroughs moved up to 364 from 496 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Burros climbed the ranks as a result of besting Granite Hills 63-11.
Silverado's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Walker threw for 208 and two touchdowns and Butler had 184 yards receiving. On the ground Pj Hanchett chipped in 212 yards. Landon Coleman helped Silverado's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Victor Valley's Eric Turner and Davondre Jackson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 1003 yards this season, while Jackson, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 35 catches for 550 yards. Barstow's James Noble leads the league in rushing yards with 1481.
A big matchup in Desert Sky this week will be when the Hawks take on Burroughs. Silverado is in third place, while Todd Mather's team is in first place.
The Aztecs and the Jackrabbits played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Aztecs eventually emerging with a 18-14 victory. Noble ran for 178 yards in the win.
