The Attica Red Ramblers will head out to square off against the Riverton Parke Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Attica took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 26-20 W over North Vermillion. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Ramblers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lucas Griffis was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 206 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making seven total tackles (4.0 for loss). Another player making a difference was Carter Vredenburgh, who threw for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Attica was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Attica didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tristen Miller and Hayden Elliot.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverton Parke). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-6 win over South Vermillion. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-6.
Attica better focus on containing Collett Sanders and Sean Vester as the pair were huge in Riverton Parke's win. Sanders rushed for 100 yards and two scores on only eight carries, while Vester rushed for 168 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Vester's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Noah Pope also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Attica's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Riverton Parke, their record now sits at 6-0.
Attica took a serious blow against Riverton Parke in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 59-0. Thankfully for the Red Ramblers, Aj Goff (who rushed for 168 yards and three scores on only five carries, and also picked up 104 receiving yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
