The Marietta Blue Devils won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 87-54 loss at the hands of North Paulding. Marietta has struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Kyann Senior dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Senior is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayla Day, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Marietta's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for North Paulding, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marietta will take on the Hoyas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrison is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for North Paulding, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (McEachern is ranked 12th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 15th).
