It was a good run, but the Summit Christian Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by St. Margaret at home and fell 65-26. Summit Christian Academy was down 52-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Summit Christian Academy had strong showings from Peyton Arceneaux, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five blocks, and Jirah Comeaux, who scored seven points along with three blocks and two steals. Arceneaux has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.
Paula Carrillo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Margaret's, scoring 25 points. Carrillo hasn't dropped below 16 points for six straight games. Azaliah Sedogo was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Summit Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for St. Margaret's, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Summit Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Navigators at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hampton Roads Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for St. Margaret's, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Seahorses at 2:00 p.m. Christchurch School is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
