The Hays Hawks will face off against the Glenn Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hays, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Hays beat Lockhart 14-9. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.
Alyza Rangel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Rangel was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Hays hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lockhart struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Glenn unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Liberty Hill, falling 15-9.
Fuego Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Deanna Dailey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Hays' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hays hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Glenn struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hays came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenn when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Does Hays have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glenn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
