North East put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the West Middlesex Big Reds with a sharp 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Grape Pickers, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.
North East got a massive performance out of Colton Owens, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Wittman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
North East's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Middlesex, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
