Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They lost  3-0 to the Pacific Grove Breakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Breakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-2  on October 2nd.
 Carmel couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Pacific Grove a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 31-27, 25-18,  26-24.
 Lizzie Descalzi paced Carmel's offense, picking up 14 kills. Descalzi got some help from  Aspen Ashe and her 24 assists. Finally,  Maddie Willoughby kept Carmel's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Pacific Grove, their win was  their eighth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 24-6.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Carmel will  face off against  rival Palma  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pacific Grove is set to  square off against  their familiar foe King City  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
