Baseball Recap: Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Gets the Win

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy got themselves on the board against North Cross on Saturday, but North Cross never followed suit. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 4-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ospreys also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Conley, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy is undefeated when Conley posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for North Cross, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will take on Timberlake Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy is facing Timberlake Christian at the right time seeing as Timberlake Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North Cross, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlisle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
