On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Homer had to settle for a 51-49 loss against Colon.
Colon found their leader in underclassman Dalton Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Mock, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Homer dropped their record down to 4-13 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Colon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homer will square off against Addison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Michigan (Homer is ranked 597th, while Addison is ranked 614th). As for Colon, they and Climax-Scotts will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Colon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Wednesday.
