Custer has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Belle Fourche Broncs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Custer is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Broncs in South Dakota (the Wildcats are ranked 23rd, while the Broncs are ranked 118th).
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Custer had to settle for a 50-48 loss against the Bison. Custer has not had much luck with the Bison recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Belle Fourche, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-49 loss to the Tigers on Thursday. Belle Fourche has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Jet Jensen, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sern Weishaar, who scored 11 points.
Custer's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Belle Fourche, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Custer didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Broncs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 73-67 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Custer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
