Eagle Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Brian Fontana was on fire: he went 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Dylan Zoller was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Moffat County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hudson Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Carlson, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Eagle Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Moffat County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Eagle Valley will head out on the road to face off against Durango at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Durango is ranked 114th, while Eagle Valley is ranked 105th). As for Moffat County, they will be playing at home against Aspen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 57.8 so far this season, Aspen's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Moffat County better be ready for a challenge.
