Skyview is a perfect 10-0 against Caldwell since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Skyview has three straight wins, Caldwell has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Skyview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Emmett on Tuesday. The Hawks blew past the Huskies 14-4. That looming 14-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

Trevan Plew and Aaron Vavold did most of the damage at the plate: Plew went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Vavold went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Vavold a new career-high. Tyler Russell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Caldwell challenged Columbia on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Wildcats, falling 21-7.
Connor Fullerton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and one run.
Skyview's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Caldwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Skyview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Caldwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Skyview's way against Caldwell in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Skyview made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
