Perry has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Prairie City-Monroe is ranked 88th).
Last Tuesday, Perry ended up a good deal behind South Hamilton and lost 45-26. Perry has struggled against South Hamilton recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Taryn Nehring, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Prairie City-Monroe waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. Everything went their way against Saydel as Prairie City-Monroe made off with a 53-27 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Prairie City-Monroe has posted against Saydel since January 19, 2021.
Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Prairie City-Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Perry was taken down by Prairie City-Monroe 46-19 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
