The Moffat County Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Aspen 64-28 on the road. The result was nothing new for Moffat County, who have now won five matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
Moffat County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Champ Hafey out in front who rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns, and also threw for 20 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Zachary Hedman was in the mix too, providing Moffat County with two touchdowns.
Several Skiers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Benson, who threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Henry Hurd, who picked up 97 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Moffat County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Aspen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Moffat County will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Valley is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Aspen, they will head out on the road to face off against Basalt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
