The Legacy Academy Silverbacks lost to the Native American Community Academy Eagles back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Legacy Academy managed a 46-42 win over Native American Community Academy.
Legacy Academy found their leader in underclassman Briley Boll, who scored six points along with 20 rebounds.
Native American Community Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makeda Casiquito, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Casiquito is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Natasha Lucero, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Legacy Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Native American Community Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Legacy Academy will head out on the road to challenge New Mexico School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Legacy Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. As for Native American Community Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Menaul at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Menaul will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Native American Community Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
