The Estancia Bears will head out to challenge the Bosque Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Estancia after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 22-16 to Santa Fe Indian. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Devon Chavez and Juan Cuevas stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chavez went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Cuevas went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Cuevas is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarin Cantu, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bosque came up short against Sandia Prep on Tuesday, falling 18-1.
Bosque saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Carranza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Will Christ also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Estancia now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bosque, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Bosque's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Estancia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .595. It's a different story for Bosque, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Estancia's hitters?
Estancia came out on top in a nail-biter against Bosque when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
