The School Without Walls Penguins came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 56-52 W over Woodson on Wednesday. For School Without Walls, this counts as revenge for the 64-61 defeat the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
School Without Walls was led to victory by Paul Joire and Chidiire Nwokwu. Joire dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Nwokwu scored 21 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nwokwu has scored at least a third of School Without Walls' points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Wallsten, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
School Without Walls now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Woodson, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. School Without Walls will take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Model Secondary School for the Deaf will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps District of Columbia Rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Penguins are ranked 19th). As for Woodson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
