Baseball Recap: Ransom Everglades Has No Trouble Against Downtown Doral

On Wednesday, the Ransom Everglades Raiders got the win against the Downtown Doral Dolphins by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Justin Kaplan was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Noah Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Ransom Everglades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Ransom Everglades and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Downtown Doral, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Ransom Everglades will face off against Marathon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marathon knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Ransom Everglades likes a good challenge. As for Downtown Doral, they will take on Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Downtown Doral has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
